Camera Traps

Camera traps provide a non-invasive method for sampling of animal populations and can establish a basis for sophisticated analyses of occurrence, occupancy dynamics, movement and space use, and resource selection.   Or maybe you just want to know whether a particular species is present and, if so, what it's up to.  HWA biologist are experienced in the latest remote camera technology and have used remote cameras in a number of settings including:

  • presence/absence of swift fox
  • assessment of waterfowl nest predation
  • attributes of raven roost sites
  • pygmy rabbit borrow monitoring
  • presence/absence of rare forest carnivores
  • greater sage-grouse lek monitoring
