Threatened & endangered species

HWA biologists are experienced in issues surrounding federal and state endangered species provisions.  Our biologists maintain a working knowledge of state and federal species and provisions, as well as methods appropriate for the study and documentation of uncommon or elusive species.  Our work with threatened or endangered species has included:

  • nocturnal surveys for black-footed ferrets
  • Wyoming pocket gopher live trapping
  • bald eagle nesting/monitoring (pre-delisting)
  • peregrine falcon recovery (pre-delisting)
  • Preble's meadow jumping mouse
  • surveys for Ute ladies'-tresses
  • new location surveys for Dudley Bluffs twinpod and bladderpod
  • technical counsel and research associated with federal status determination for the dunes sagebrush lizard
